TRAVELOGUE [Marinduque Island]

I still haven't got the chance to tell you stories about our trip. I was so pissed-off when the trip was cancelled but then as the adage goes "if there's a will there's a way"... so here we are :)

I couldn't be much excited because my family don't have any province to go to. We're purely Manileño. Lucky for us that my BIL invited us in their hometown with free lounging! :))

stayed in a very comfy room. fully air-conditioned. CLEAN BATHROOM.
and WIFI zone. weee.

Ryan and my 3rd sister at Village Sunrise Inn.
Just beside BIL's house.

WE were there because of two things: MORIONES festival and the BEACH!

then the Luneta Park

Yes, they have their own version of Luneta Park beside the sea.
Take note: cleaner (not comparable really) than Manila Bay.

Very picturesque interior. My sister is feeling it!

my cute nephew's becoming a promdi. :))

then early the following morning, it's time
to hit the beach!

you'll just fall in-love

but okay, it's still scorching hot there. And what's the best way
to conquer the heat and your always-feeling-empty stomach??

HALO-HALO!
The best thing about halo-halo for me is the MILK
(bec. all of the ingredients' taste is mixed with it).
When you sip it, it really satisfies my thirst.

And Ryan made a lot of sand castles!
When I say a lot I'm not overstating! :))

Okay, so I've said enough. You don't wanna miss half of your life so go and experience Moriones festival! :)

Tata for now!

(draft post for over a week! finally got it finished and published! )

Okay, so here's a little BIG something:
Yesterday, kins and I got our clearance. We passed! We didn't flunk in any subjects. So there's a reason to celebrate. With my civilian clothes in my bag, I immediately dressed up! Kins is like a girl, fickle minded. Been changing plans. But yesterday's change of plans was different.

We took the cab to greenbelt, our usual hangout place. About to buy tickets for the movie but then her mom called him. I didn't know why or what was it about but that cause us not to buy tickets. Just strolled around the mall. Met up with her sister with her sister's bestfriends currently lounging at starbucks. Of course, he introduced me. I froze. As always. They said: Nice meeting you. I just smiled. Did I just forget to reply: likewise? And so we left right away. Bought cold drink at Big Chill first. Because it's scorching hot in Manila, and yes! even inside the mall. Kins ate merienda at Subway. Our both favorite because of their sandwiches and OATMEAL COOKIES! The best!

Kins reminded me of his one rule (or maybe a request) before the meet-up: No crazy/weird dancing. That made me LAUGH! :))

Her sister met up with us. We took the cab again to Powerplant mall in Rockwell. We strolled around the mall and forgot about the time. We came just in time for the Clash of The titans movie. Inside the movie theatre were kins parents, uncles, aunts and nieces. There was like 20 of us! It's my first time to meet all of them. Except kins parents which I've met during the swimming party I had with my friends. The movie was not exceptional but then it's one of the most unforgettable movie. I guess I don't have to tell you why.

Dinner at Kaya after. Kins' family's favorite restaurant. We sat in front of his parents. His dad was encouraging us to take up Law in his subtle ways. I could only smile. I can't see myself as a lawyer, sorry future FIL. But I just want you to know that I'm encouraging Kins the best way I could. He's just too conscious with his age. A little chit chat here and there while eating was more relaxing. Then I thought we're about to go home, but then they still wanted to have coffee at the Starbucks. Kins not a fan of Sbucks but I'm otherwise. Yee! Chatting with kins pretty nieces. They're so cool I was expecting to sit with them to play Killer killer but then I have to sit on the adult table (we're too many that's why we can't all sit together) to chat with kins' parents and cousins while sipping coffee, mocha frap for me. Kins' the youngest among his cousins. Most of them have children already. Spent an hour or so. Chatting, laughing because of Kins. :) Then we called it a day. I called it a dream.

Kins family drove me home. I was little bit shy. But it was surreal.

I have never been introduced as someone's girlfriend to my someone's family. Yesterday was my first time. I've never thought it would happen soon. Well, was that soon after 20 months??? It's for you to judge. But I feel so ecstatic.

So that was the highlight. No photos albeit I brought my camera with me. Too shy. No photos. Just words.

Oh...kay.

It's too long. I don't know if I made sense. If its interesting. Or not. And so? This is for my future babykins. You'll get to read this. You'll know the story. And the LOVE.

Lost in Paradise

Not our planned destination.
We just happened to be lucky.
In a paradise island.

MANIWAYA ISLAND
still part of Marinduque

awesome and unique house spotted
And it turns out that the owner of the boat we're riding in
was the same owner of this house- and it's just her
Guest House.

One of the rooms
Tiger spotted?
Because she's a thomasian
A little UST touch!
Lavet!

Wishin' to get back to this paradise again.

what's crackin'?

SO, we didn't make it. we were just 5 minutes late. the ship was gone. Just when we're about to go back to Manila, some people in the pier taught us another way to go to Marinduque. Though two decided to go back home, the four of us were tough enough to push through. What's a little adventure in life right?

We ended up in General Luna- the farthest part of Quezon. Sitting on a bench. Waiting for the boat. We can see the Marinduque Island from there! We waited for five hours. But those five hours weren't wasted time. We happened to witness their Holy Week tradition.

I don't know what they're called. But we call them pom-pom guys.

They also holds aggressive penitence by whipping their backs to repent for
their sins. Well, not only in this place. Filipinos are known for this tradition.
But it's our first time to see it live. To my shock, I wasn't able to capture it.
But then I saw them cleansing their back in the sea. Salt water. Wow.

Then Ryan and I went to the plaza, just a stone throw away from
where we're staying.
They also have their own version of Morion.

And more pom-pom guys!

And they have an 'ubusan pom-pom game!'

It was pretty bizarre to be in a place where you least expect. Where you knew no one. Where you can't buy foods because you just don't know the place. It's not safe. But it was an awesome once-in-a-lifetime experience.

But I tell you, no more happenings like this. Next time, we'll go by air. No more travels like this! :))

excited for summer!

I'll try to get off the cyberspace a little more.
Final exams are coming.

Time flies so fast.
I'm going to be on my last school year after this.
(maybe not but WE don't want that)

But for now...
I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER!!!

<3,>

excited to be sweet.

Because I've never done anything quite like it.
Is the McDo party counted as the first?
No, I don't think so.

So I just wanted to be sweet.
I was looking for a reason.
So the 600th came to my mind.
Because I missed the 500th.

I'm trying hard.
To be artistic.
I love to doodle. doodle.
Something that no one would ever appreciate.

I wanted to do something I've never done to anyone.

I'm a techie person.
So lay-out and editing was no problem.
But when it comes to pencils and crayon,
brush and paints... I want to cry.

But it would be sweet!

Promise!

third godchild.

Little did I know that I was the official and only photographer.
So, I rushed after my class just to get there in time!
I'm so happy to capture all the moments!
I want to have my own too! But definitely not soon.

I did the lay-out of the tarpaulin in the middle of my studying.
I was surprised it looked okay.

Cuteness!!! My first non-relative godson.

With his Ninang! after the ceremony.
At last I had a photo with him!

And the reason of his existence. Kamaye's one of my best friends.
We've been together since 1st grade.
And we share the same birthday! She's just a year ahead though.
I'm very glad she's responsible enough to have a child.
And she's graduating this May! Kudos to you! :)

Things I love:
The reception. Cozy restaurant. Awesome food!
The AVP. video I made about baby PM.
The ring. One of my collections now.
And the souvenirs/giveaways. I'm the only one who got
all of them! Homemade cookies, sanitizer and
an Anna Sui wallet I've been wanting for long.

I tell you, I'll be his favorite godmom.

:))

March 9, 2010

don't miss me.

YES! Because I'm just right here.
Busy...

studying.

I know I kept ranting about being busy,
being swamped with school loads.
But you know, I love it.
I'd rather be busy than be idle.
I want my life flowing like a river
Than just be like a stagnant water.

A friend once told me that she's so pissed off with accounting.
That she no longer understands why she's there, taking it up.
That it's freaking hard and she's about to give up.
I told her what everyone else would.
That nothing is easy.
Honestly, I love it.
I love it that accounting is hard.
I'm enjoying its twist.
I never like it easy. I want challenge.
That makes it fun right?
Okay, I may lie a bit but c'mon!
A little positivity won't kill you!

:)

Anyway, about the photo above that was the second time
we were allowed to wear our own clothes (of course with lots of restrictions).
The 2nd yellow day in my three years in college.

And yes, I'd rather be yellow (or I'm lying :)
